Instagram fixes bug that does not allow users to delete photos, DM

Instagram Fixes Buginginging Messages and Direct Delete Messages

The disruption to Instagram hosted on Facebook has stopped the photo sharing app from deleting private photos and messages from its servers even if users have stopped doing so, media reported.

Independent security researcher Saugat Pokharel found that while retrieving his personal information on Instagram, he collected personal information containing secret photos and messages from other users who had been deleting it, reports Tech Crunch.

For Instagram, it takes 90 days for deleted data to be completely removed from its programs.

But in Pokharel's case, the Instagram details he had deleted were still there the following year.

Pokharel reported the matter on Instagram in October last year of its pest-buying program.

This bug was set earlier this month.

“We have resolved the matter and we do not see any evidence that he is being abused. We thank the researcher for reporting the matter to us, ”an Instagram spokesman was quoted as saying in the report on Thursday.

Pokharel also received $ 6,000 as bug bounty payment from Instagram.

It is a problem similar to the one set by Twitter last year, where users can directly access deleted messages, including messages sent from accounts and disabled, using his data download tool.

Last year, a small blog marketing site faced a similar problem when it allegedly shared shared messages on its platform including deleted messages and shared data and recovered from suspended or inactive accounts.

Security researcher Karan Saini has received annual messages in a file from a database stored on a website from existing accounts on Twitter.
